The Challenge:
Find your own "real person" model in Washington Square Park and design an outfit for them. Before and After style because the "models" were also getting full hair and makeup makeovers.
Guest Judges:
Michelle Monghan- Actress
Asha Leo- TV host and model
During the show:
Emily found a model a lot quicker than I thought she would, and Sean is taking longer than I thought it should take him.
I love everyone's fabric choices from Mood- so fun!
Really worried about Kini because the girl he found to be his model has a completely different style than he does.
Korina is being incredibly rude and cocky and needs to be taken down a peg or two! I am completely ready for her to go!
Char looks like she is designing for a 20 year old not someone who is a teacher and has a daughter. She needs to keep her client in mind when she designs.
I really hope Amanda and Alexander can pull their designs off, especially after Tim told Alexander his look was hideous.
I actually really like Kini's dress and think it is super fun!
I think the neck Emily has put on her dress is way too extravagant and definitely not everyday wear!
I do not hate Korina's jacket; I just think she has made this jacket before.
(left to right)
During the runway:
Alexander- Cute and goes with the girls style! However, the top did not seem to fit very well, but he was hard pressed for time.
Amanda- There was something not quite "Amanda" about this look. The dress was too short and not well made; I also feel like it is a very basic dress that I could go out and buy anywhere.
Char- The model (thankfully) has the legs to work the shorts, but I am still not sure they are appropriate. The peplum looks stuck on and not cohesive with the rest of the look.
Emily- I have come to the conclusion that I just do not like her style in general. With this look I felt that the neck was too much, and the bottom was too informal to go with the top.
Kini- This is not my favorite look he has done, but still very good! The styling on the dress was fantastic, and the denim turned out very nice!
Amanda- While the look is nice I feel like she has done it before.
Sean- Very 20s and classy! Plus the slit and fringe added some fun to an otherwise very formal dress.

The Challenge:
Each designer is paired with an American Girl Doll and a young girl that will act as their model. They are to draw inspiration from the doll's story and history and design a child's outfit. The designers are also provided with fabric that matches the dolls clothes, but they can also go to Mood and pick their own.
Guest Judges:
Elizabeth Moss- Mad Men
Heather Northrop- Senior Design Manager at American Girl
During the show:
Emily definitely has the advantage in this challenge because she already has a kid's line. However, I like the idea of the tulle skirt, but the colors seem a bit drab.
I really don't know how I feel about Sandhya as a person anymore. Part of me really feels bad for her, but the other part of me says that she is being pretty rude to some people.
I love the jacket Kini has made, but I am worried about how the rest of the look will come together.
Alexander's look doesn't seem to connect with his doll to me, but I really like the colors.
The pattern on Char's dress is really cute and fun, but the fringe vest she wants to put over it looks like a costume to me.
The shape of Korina's dress seems a little mature to me, not fun and light like a little girls dress should be!
Sandhya's look seems very homemade to me. I really don't like her design or the fabrics she is putting together.
It is truly amazing fast Kini works!
(from left to right)
Alexander- I like this look... I think... His outfit is really cute but for me there slightly off that I cannot put my finger on. Either the bottoms don't fit quite right or the top is too sophisticated. I am really not sure how I feel about this.
Amanda- Her look came together effortlessly! The fabrics look cute and playful together, and I could see any little girl wearing that look.
Char- Like I said before, I really like the dress, and the colors represent her character very well. I think there is too much fringe on the jacket and it overwhelms the dress, but I can see why many people would really like this look.
Emily- Her outfit was very dark, and something I would not want to put my future daughter in! She also put a veil/net thing around her face, which was just odd and made it look like she was going to funeral to me. I could never see American Girl having an outfit like this.
Kini- I honestly want everything he made! The jacket and the dress are perfect!!! I would have no problem matching an American Girl Doll if I looked that cute!
Korina- Her looked turned out very nice! The panels she added made the dress have good movement and a fun and playful side to it.
Sandhya- This look is a mess! The peplum looks very odd, the buttons look like pokemon balls, and the whole thing just looks like a onesie! It even snaps up the back like a baby onesie would!
Sean- His look really had nothing special about it. The outfit was too plain and dull, not bright like the 70s inspired outfit could have been.

The Challenge:
The challenge this week on Project Runway was to make a cutting edge avant-garde design. The twist was also that the models will be walking on a rainway aka a catwalk will rain pouring down on it. Also, for those who don't know, avant-garde is not supposed to be wearable; it is more of an art form.
I was so happy they finally had two days to perfect their work!
Sean's idea looks really cool, but I am worried about whether or not it will work.
Kini's idea about the skirt being an upside-down umbrella sounds very interesting!
I am worried about Fade both personally and design wise. He seems really homesick and as a result is uninspired.
Korina's design looks ridiculous to me, but so did last week's and she ended up winning so.....
Emily really needs to get over this whole I love hoods thing!
I do not hate the bright pants Sandhya made. I mean I don't love them, but I definitely don't hate them.
I love the flowers Alexander is making for his dress!
Most of the designs look really promising, but I am worried about whether the designers will be able to execute their designs.
(left to right, top to bottom)
Alexander- I loved the purple 3D flowers coming off the clear dress! Very well done!
Amanda- I really was not sure how her look was going to turn out but I ended up liking it! The makeup, jewelry, and dress looked wonderful together.
Char- I don't know... I mean it was ok...
Emily- The actual dress itself I didn't mind, but the hood, gloves, and shoulder pads were too much and didn't work together.
Fade- Way to plain and simple.
Kini- His look was wonderful and very high fashion. The upside down umbrella skirt was very well executed as usual!
Korina- Again, I just found this look odd. I know that tends to be what avant-garde is, but this just looks like a space dress.
Sandhya- Here's my thing: if the pants had been tighter and gone to her ankles, and if the jacket had been made without the dangling pinwheels it would have been OK. But it wasn't, so I was not the biggest fan.
Sean- Let me explain what this dress is. He put powdered color into the seams, so when the rain fell on the runway the color came out. The dress ended up being gorgeous and I couldn't stop smiling when I saw it! It truly was amazing to see. :)

I am so happy Kini finally won a challenge! Both of their dresses were stunning so I get way the judges chose both.
