Seersucker Wedding

This past weekend my cousin got married in Arkansas, so we went on a bit of  a road trip and drove up to be there. I bought this dress a few months ago and was saving it for the wedding. I am really excited to share my outfit with everyone! A post on the weekend as a whole will be coming soon.

Friday Favorites - Quotes and Illustrations Edition

I decided to do a "special edition" of my Friday Favorites today, and I really hope y'all like it! I am in the middle of redoing my room, so I have been looking at different quotes and illustrations to hang around my room. These are some of my absolute favorites!

2c4095f1a0613ccbe4cac8763795f0d0tumblr_mredxatLKb1qaskwoo1_500596c5336962d43db98a3ac60ecd685d2faea22e91b68205cff9edfa9608731d5tumblr_n2e61py8TW1r51uuoo1_500wedding-shoe-trifecta-INSLEE4e564e24635f70d26c66b86f1eedacbad3ccdfae8e16e570154c7d67d3d3b103tumblr_n2hb0tffIw1sd2w23o1_500tumblr_mms096YOAj1qmly8go1_5006d98ed226af7bff08527ebe50625f5cdtumblr_n3hkjyxQA31snd510o1_500

I hope everybody enjoyed! All illustrations are from Inslee.

Get To Know Me 100 Random Questions TAG

I think I am, and will continue to be, pretty open on my blog, but I want y'all to get to know me a little more. I looked at a lot of different "get to know me" TAGs online, and this one was my favorite. I like it because it is random, but still lets you get to know that person a little bit better. Hope you enjoy. :)

1. Do you sleep with your closet doors open or closed?

Closed. Always closed, or else I get freaked out.

2. Do you take the shampoo and conditioner bottles from hotels?

Sometimes, it depends if they are good or not.

3. Do you sleep with your sheets tucked in or out?

Out... Well sometimes I start with them in but by the morning they are all over the place.

4. Have you ever stolen a street sign before?

No, but I have a street named after me and part of me really wants the sign in my room.

5. Do you like to use post-it notes?

I would love to say yes, but honestly I don't. I will when I am packing for trips though.

6. Do you cut out coupons but then never use them?

Like two years ago I was a big coupon person. I would cut them out and organize them for my mom, but now I never use them.

7. Would you rather be attacked by a big bear or a swarm of bees?

If I absolutely HAD to choose, I would say the big bear. I have a horrible fear of bees and wasps.

8. Do you have freckles?

I used to when I was younger but not so much anymore. However, if I spend enough time out in the sun a few will show up.

9. Do you always smile for pictures?

Yes, unless I am taking a silly picture!

10. What is your biggest pet peeve?

My absolute biggest pet peeve is when people put teenagers in a box, and say we are all annoying and lazy. I could go on about this for quite some time and probably will someday.

11. Do you ever count your steps when you walk?

Nope!

12. Have you ever peed in the woods?

No, and I hope I never will have to.

13. What about pooped in the woods?

I am a dancer, so I do that all the time!

16 was inappropriate so lets go onto 17!

17. What size is your bed?

Queen... I think.

18. What is your song of the week?

I can't believe I am saying this but Just Girly Things. My friend sent me this song and informed me this would be my "summer song" so yeah... it has done a good job of getting me awake in the mornings. (I swear I actually do have decent taste in music.)

100%

20. Do you still watch cartoons?

Every once in a blue moon I will watch some Looney Tunes.

This is going to sound totally random but Where the Wild Things Are. I am sure there are more, but they just messed up this movie so much.

22. Where would you bury hidden treasure if you had some?

I have actually thought about this, but I can't tell you where I would hide it!

Water.

Disney World Days 1-3

The Disney World posts will be split up into two parts- days 1-3 and days 4-6. We went with our amazing close family friends! Our family friends have a little girl, Lizzie, who has never been to Disney before, and was obviously very excited. My family has been several times before, but honestly I get really excited whenever we go.

This was Lizzie's first plane ride, and I guess you could say she loved take off and landing.IMAG0346

I needed some Starbucks that early in the morning!

IMAG0336

We took the Magical Express from the airport to Disney, so we did not have to worry about our luggage.

Once we checked into our resort we hopped on a bus and headed to Epcot.IMG_4346

Sunday Rides in Epcot

Spaceship Earth- This was the first ride we did, and it was an all around crowd pleaser. It kind of takes you back in time, which sounds lame, but I promise it's awesome! There is also a really fun interactive part at the end that is sure to make you laugh.

Soarin'- This is the most awe-inspiring ride in all of Disney World! This is an absolute MUST RIDE. It is a simulation ride where you feel like you are on a hang-glider soaring over California. This is one of the very few rides that people actually feel compelled to clap when it's over. I honestly can't tell y'all how amazing this ride is.

The Seas With Nemo & Friends- This ride is cute, but not one you have to go on. One tip is never to fast pass this. Every time we have gone we have literally been able to just walk right on the ride.

Gran Fiesta Tour- This, again, is a cute ride, but in my opinion, it's just cute- nothing special.

Sunday Dinner

San Angel Inn Restaurante- First, I would like to say that I felt horrible this night because I was incredibly sleep deprived, so I really can't comment on the food. I will say this; it is VERY dark, VERY crowded, and VERY loud. Not our favorite.San-Angel-Inn-new-500x332via

Monday morning we went back to Epcot and walked around the World Showcase for most of the morning. Around noon we went to "America" to eat lunch.IMG_4340

God Bless America for always having food we will eat.

Later in the afternoon we went to Animal Kingdom.

Monday Afternoon Rides

Kali River Rapids- WARNING!!! You will get soaked from head to toe, so if you don't like being wet bring a rain poncho to wear. This was a fun ride, a little short, but really fun. Lines can be long so try and get Fastpass.

Finding Nemo- The Musical- We weren't sure how good it was going to be, but the musical was pretty amazing. There are some parts that could be scary for little kids, but if they have seen the movie they will be fine.

Expedition Everest- This is by far my favorite roller coaster in all of Disney. I love the part the goes backwards, it's intense, but not too scary. I really encourage everyone to go on it.

Monday Dinner

Yak and Yeti- We had never eaten dinner in Animal Kingdom before, so we decide to eat at one of Animal Kingdom's sit down restaurants- Yak and Yeti. They have really great Asian food, and everyone was able to find something they really liked. We are definitely going back, and I would recommend it to everyone.IMAG0810

 My Crispy Honey Chicken

Tuesday morning we got up bright and early and headed over to Magic Kingdom. We had early reservations for breakfast at The Crystal Palace, so we got to get in the park early when there was barely anyone there.

IMG_4479

Tuesday Morning Rides

Lines were very long so we didn't get to do too much.

Splash Mountain- This was my first "big kid" ride I rode at Disney when I was nine, so it is one of my favorites. The ride is a pretty calm ride until the end. The big drop is obviously the main part of the ride. It is a five-story drop which most of us loved, but Lizzie was not a fan. This one is really fun, but maybe not the best for littler kids.

Big Thunder Mountain- I think this is a great "starter" roller coaster for people who have never been on one before. There aren't any big drops or anything scary. Lizzie LOVED it, and had her arms in the air the whole time -along with a big smile on her face. :)

Haunted Mansion- This is another one of my absolute favorites, but I was worried about how Lizzie would react. We let her know before we went in that none of it was real, and I think that is a really good idea to tell any young kids. Once we told her that it was make believe I think she got to relax and appreciate how amazing the mansion is. It was actually in the running for her favorite ride.

We then went back to Epcot for some late afternoon rides and dinner.

Tuesday Afternoon Rides

Soarin'- We just had to go again.

Journey Into Imagination With Figment- This is a cute ride for littler kids, but we all enjoyed it. It has short lines, so I would ride it if your kid were under 8-or just wanted to waste some time.

Living With The Land- Lizzie really enjoyed this ride because of the fish and the flowers. It may not be the most thrilling ride but it is air-conditioned, pretty, and interesting.

Maelstrom- The Maelstrom is a Norwegian ride that tells you part of Norweigh's history. This ride can be scary to young kids because most of the ride has to do with trolls. This is another good way to waste some time between Fastpasses, or before dinner.

Tuesday Dinner

Via Napoli- Via Napoli is an Italian restaurant that is mainly a pizzeria, but also has some really great classic Italian meals. I had the Candele and it was AMAZING! I had finished about half of it before I remembered I should take a picture, so it didn't happen-sorry. :) We got four of the six desserts and all shared. They were extremely delicious!IMG_4336

Finally I had to share this photo with y'all. How cute is this picture of Lizzie and Piglet at the Crystal Palace during breakfast!

Friday Favorites #3

It is time for another Friday Favorites! I have not done too much this week, but I am so excited to see my friends tonight! I cannot believe I am doing this to myself, but I am going to see The Fault in Our Stars again tonight. I am really excited to share my favorites with y'all today.

1. GB Luvv That Gladiator Sandals04178265_zi_ibiza_nude

I went shoe shopping with my mom yesterday and fell in love with so many gladiator sandals- and these were by far my favorite. I really like that these are a little different, because they lace up the front. They are so cute and comfortable! I hope to get myself a pair soon.

2. Lilly Pulitzer Eaton Shift Dress76573_multiseaandbeseen

I do not know if I can have a Friday Favorites without some Lilly Pulitzer. I really like this dress because it slightly reminds me of Kacey Musgrave's dress from the Grammys. The combination of the tassels, colors, and pattern is perfection.

3. CMT Crossroads: Katy Perry and Kacey Musgraves katy-perry-and-kacey-musgraves-at-cmt-crossroads

Kacey Musgraves and Katy Perry did Crossroads together last Friday, and it was great! Their voices mixed very well together, and the covers they did were amazing.

4. Blueberriesclose-up-of-blueberries

During the spring and summer I eat blueberries like there is no tomorrow. I can sit down with a new carton of blueberries, and within an hour they are all gone.

5. Adorable Roomstumblr_n75houBe8a1tvy4g3o1_500

Scrolling through Pinterest and Tumblr you run across so many cute rooms. Bright colors just make me so cheerful, and this room is definitely bright! I can only hope that my house will look this cute someday.

Products I Actually Used At Disney

Over packer does not even begin to properly describe me. The problem is I honestly think I am going to use EVERYTHING I bring - even though I know I never do. I was at Disney World for a week, and lets just say it was ridiculous the amount of makeup I brought.

IMG_4548

I know, I know, it is crazy. I am trying to work on it.

Makeup Brushes

As you can see I brought a lot of makeup brushes. (Honestly there were even more that you cannot see in the picture above.) Let's get to the brushes I actually used.

IMG_4551

from left to right

1. Ecotools Smudge Brush

I use the Smudge Brush to fill in my eyebrows, so of course it is a must for everyday.

2. Ecotools by Alicia Silverstone Powder Brush

I obviously use this to powder my face, and powder in the hot Florida heat is a necessity.

3. Ecotools by Alicia Silverstone Spooly Brush

First I would like to apologize if I spelled spooly wrong I saw like three different ways to spell it. I use this brush to brush through my eyebrows before and after I fill them in.

4. E.L.F Blush Brush

This brush I simply use to apply blush. :)

Skincare

I was really good with skincare and only brought what I needed.

IMG_4553

from left to right, top to bottom

1. Clinique Clarifying Lotion 3

This is a great toner for oily combination skin.

2. Clinique Liquid Facial Soap Mild

I have not used this face soap in years, but I found the travel size in the back of my cabinet and decided to bring it along. I quickly remembered why I was not the biggest fan of this product. While it does a good job of cleaning my face I find it quite drying. Now, I know many people who love this soap, I just do not think it is great for my skin type.

3. Clean & Clear Morning Burst Hydrating Gel

I was so happy when I saw that my everyday moisturizer was less than three ounces!

4. Up&Up Cleansing Towelettes

I bought these specifically for the trip and I cannot decide how I feel about them. They do a really great job of getting all your makeup off, but I wish they were a little wetter.

Face Makeup

I was pretty good with face makeup, but I brought about five more blushes than needed.

IMG_4569

from left to right

1. BeautyBlender

This truly changed the way my makeup looked- absolutely worth the money!

2. Maybelline Fit Me Concealer

I really like how creamy and easy to blend this concealer is.

3. CoverGirl Outlast Stay Fabulous

I would say this is a really good medium coverage foundation. It doesn't wear off during the day, and blends nicely into the skin.

4. CoverGirl Clean Pressed Powder Oil Control

This powder does a really good job of making my skin matte.

5. Neutrogena SkinClearing Blemish Control

I got this concealer right before we left for the trip, so I have not had much time with it. I will keep y'all updated with what I think.

6. Sephora Collection Colorful Blush in Rose Petal

I have had this blush for a pretty long time now, and I absolutely love it!

Eye Makeup

I brought WAY too much eye makeup, and look how little I used!

IMG_4572

from left to right

1. Too Faced LashGasm

This was the perfect mascara to bring because it provides great length, and it does not come off during the day.

2. Clinique Eye shadow Duo in No-Show Taupes

This is a very basic eye shadow duo. I use the light shade for an all over lid shade, and the dark shade to fill in my eyebrows.

3.Benefit Cream Shadow in R.S.V.P

I wore this a couple days that week, and it had really good staying power.

4. Eyelash Curler

It is a necessity.

Lips

I literally brought a whole bag of just lip products, and you know what I wore the whole week? Lip balm.

Friday Favorites #2

I am sorry about the lack of posts this week. I was on vacation, and my Wi-Fi was not good at all. I was also a genius (not) and completely forgot to bring all of my cords that connect my devices to my computer. Anyway, lets get on with my Friday Favorites (that is already two days late). Sorry!

1. Lilly Pulitzer Storestumblr_n70lqdGwJV1qldy2xo1_500

I, like most southern girls, love Lilly Pulitzer. However, I have never been to a Lilly store. Anytime I buy something I have to order it online. I really enjoy seeing the pictures of all the stores online. They look perfect!

2. Smoothies and Frozen YogurtBlue-Beauty-Breakfast-Smoothie

I have been looking at a lot of different recipes on Pinterest for smoothies and frozen yogurt, and they all look so good! Smoothies and frozen yogurt are great because they are yummy, healthy, and something you can probably make at home. My mom made us blueberry smoothies a week ago and they were delicious! Maybe I should make a post with some recipes!

3. Inslee Haynesshoe-photographerINSLEE1

I found Inslee's illustrations about a year ago and have been obsessed ever since. Everything she draws is just perfect and transports me to a glamorous yet relaxed world. I have several of her illustrations all around my room, study, and the background of my website.

4. Greece 1e0e230cadd4f386300879e9a3fd95aa

Greece is the one place I just HAVE to go. I have been itching to go to Greece for a while now, and I am hoping to go sometime after I graduate high school. The gorgeous blue water and the whitewash buildings- stunning!

5.This Quote cc2de0ce2142674d97251d3905180506

This is perfect for me! I have many quotes all throughout my room, and this quote will soon be joining the wall. I tend to be an over thinker, and often second-guess myself. I am learning that I just need to trust myself, and sometimes that means diving in headfirst and just hoping that I fly.

6. My Vacationnoname

My family, along with our good family friends, just got home from our weeklong trip to Disney World, hence why this post is SO late. There will be several posts about our trip coming out soon!

Carrie

Friday Favorites

One thing you will learn about me very quickly is that I love online shopping. I don't even have to buy anything, I just love filling up the cart! Recently I have been really enjoying reading other blog's link posts. I have found many cute shops and outfits this way! My Friday Favorites will be my version of link posts where I will be showing you everything I have found and loved throughout the week.

1. The Lemon Drop TopIMG_2099_grande_grande

I am usually not a big yellow fan, but this season it has been one of my favorites. I love the high neckline and lace on the top. This looks like a perfect top that would be cute and comfortable on those hot summer nights.

2. Lilly Pulitzer Agendas b415f17828770a27dc0b7e01f2c475ed

I know, I know, everyone and their mothers are talking about these right now, but seriously they are so cute! The one thing that is wrong with these planners- deciding which pattern to get.

3. Hey Y'all Signil_570xN.208664663

How cute would this sign be in your house, bedroom, or even a local boutique. They come is so many colors you are bound to find one you love.

4. Perla Earringsa6859c9bbbac10faec8fe32c382d9afd

These gorgeous Loren Hope earrings make me wish I had my ears pierced.

5. Bright Lipsab41e5d9389a605a6a8dc85488049b33

I have been loving these bright pink/fuchsia lips. I have a few lip-glosses that can work for the bright lip look. Maybe a review or tutorial should be coming soon.

6. The Fault In Our Stars0372f7e17bd1b9cfe095a3ed5465e4b3

I went to go see TFIOS opening night and it was absolutely amazing! My advice to those who go- read the book first, wear waterproof mascara, and bring a lot of tissues.  (The link above goes to the extended trailer.)
