Sunday Reflections~ Failure

 

"Accept failure as part of the process."  I would love to be able to start this out by saying that I never understood why people said failing was such a bad thing. However, not only do I understand those people, I was one of those people. One thing has become very clear to be over the several months- sophomore year is a lot harder than freshman year. I have also learned this- sometimes we fail, or at least make a C or D. But you know what? That is OK. It really, really is. Part of becoming a better person, student, or employee is learning from your mistakes because at least you are trying! Making bad grades or being really stressed out may be a sign that something needs to go (I'm looking at you Chemistry Pre-AP), but sometimes failing is just life. Take a deep breath because I promise you that you can pick yourself up and shake it off *insert Taylor Swift dance party here* and do better next time!

 

Remember failing one test isn't everything! You are awesome, remember that!

Sunday Reflections~ Success Is Not For The Lazy

"Success is not easy and is certainly not for the lazy." Allow me to get on my soapbox for a second. I am sick and tired of people calling our generation lazy. Mostly just because I hate it when people put people in a box and say, "Oh, well you're a teen so you must be lazy and up to no good". I do not know about you but I look around, especially in the blogging world, and think wow these girls are motivated, determined, and go-getters! I think we have all realized that if you want to be successful in anything you have to put in a lot of effort. If I prove nothing else in my high school/teenage years I want to prove that not all teenagers are lazy. I mean just look around, Emily started Smart Girls Group when she was a teenager, and Anna started Undeniable Report and she is a senior in high school! Plus, anyone who has a blog knows it is a ton of work if you want to put out good, consistent content! Next time someone says something about teens being lazy standup for yourself and our whole generation and say we are not! Because I do not know about you, but I think our generation could do some pretty amazing things!

 

Has anyone every said anything bad to you about our generation?

Em John Jewelry

After seeing Em John bracelets featured on Carly's blog and realizing that yes those are the bracelets in Seventeen, I knew I wanted some Em John bracelets ASAP. The amazing 17 year old behind the brand, Emma, was kind enough to send me a few pairs and I quickly fell in love! All of her bracelets are so bright and cannot help but make you happy!

 



 



Emma basically started her company as a way to try and pre-pay for college. I thought this was so cool the she had the forethought and determination to start something like this in high school. The best part about her jewelry is that it appeals to all ages! The cute emojis, initials, and other fun charms can truly make anyone smile!

 





 

 

Besides being seen in Seventeen and the Huffington Post Emma is working with other big brands like Dove and O Magazine. O Magazine launched a new program called Circle of Friends and asked Emma to design bracelets exclusively for the members! She is also working with Dove to design a special bracelet for the Dove Self-Esteem Project.
